Damon Weaver Goes to Washington
Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 8:57AM Damon Weaver, a Pahokee pint-sized journalist from Palm Beach Gardens, Fla, has tried for a year to get an interview with President Obama. This is good!
The 11-year-old "media star in the making" has already interviewed Vice President Joe Biden, who is says is Weaver "long-winded" compared to the President. For now, Weaver says he only wants to be a part-time journalist, because he also wants to be an astronaut.
"When I interviewed Vice President Joe Biden, he became my homeboy," Weaver told Obama. "Now that I interviewed you, would you like to become my homeboy?"
"Absolutely," Obama answered, sealing the deal with a handshake.
POTUS meets with Damon WeaverPresident Obama made a "big announcement" regarding coming changes in the federal school lunch program. Obama Foodorama covers this part of the interview in print.
Please note that POTUS and Weaver share a common passion for mangoes.
Get ready for the O-Effect to kick in for the juicy, sensual passion fruit. I'll try to pick up the mango story in Anne of Carversville Love Potions. Michelle-Style is strictly a family channel.
