Michelle Obama's 'eyes' in fashion's front row at New York Fashion Week: Telegraph UK

American Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour (left) and White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers attend the Donna Karan fashion show during New York Fashion Week Photo: APMichelle Obama, the First Lady, may not be attending any of the New York Fashion Week shows. But she has a first-class stand-in, in the shape of Desirée Glapion Rogers, assistant to the President and the White House social secretary.

Ms Rogers, accompanied by the editor-in-chief of American Vogue, Anna Wintour, was a front-row guest at the shows on Monday by Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan and Thakoon. She is also planning to take in the Marc Jacobs show at the New York State Armoury on Monday night, before flying back to Washington on Tuesday. more
