Change was the clarion call of Barack Obama’s election campaign, though I don’t think any of us at Vogue initially realized that would include the difference that was going to be made by First Lady Michelle Obama’s wardrobe. We’ve been incredibly impressed by what she has worn, pulling off that tricky balance between the stylistically interesting and the absolutely appropriate. And no more so than during Tuesday’s inauguration, where she watched her husband sworn in wearing Isabel Toledo, and spent the night going from ball to ball in Jason Wu. (I’d also like to single out for praise that wonderful Narciso Rodriguez camel coat.) more
