The original Blue Hill is located in Westchester County, in Pocantico Hills, which is Rockefeller Estate Country. I waited months for a dinner reservation there.

BlueHill is deeply entrenched in the local food movement, with about one-third of their food coming from Stone Barn, which they also own. The Blue Hill concept operates on all the food principles that matter to the Obamas, and foodies will be raving about their choice of restaurant.

Michelle & Crew Jaunt Over for a Burger at Good Stuff Eatery

I love Michelle Obama's relationship with food. In a single week, we see her telling kids to eat their veggies on Sesame Street and yesterday she's off to eat one of Top Chef alumni Spike Mendelsohn's famous burgers at Good Stuff Eatery in Washington.

Michelle just grabbed 20 staff members and headed out the door, creating one of the best 'ladies lunches' ever. (Does this mean there were no guys in the group?)

It's 'ladies night' for FOTUS. Seated on one side will be J.K. Rowling, the author; and on the other will be Kelly Holmes, the double Olympic gold medalist.

The NYTimes confirms today that First Lady Michelle Obama has made healthy eating another of her top priorities, along with military families and working families.

Lack of access to healthy food is a major challenge in urban communities around the country. The NYTimes writes: Fresh, nutritious foods are not delicacies to be savored by the wealthy, but critical components of the diets of ordinary and struggling families.
