Globetrotting Malia & Sasha Pack Up a Memorable Summer

Wanting to place the AP article Capital Culture: Obama girls' outsized summer fun in Private Lives, I can't.

The globe-trotting First Daughters enjoyed summer vacation in front of the whole world -- well almost.

Even though Sasha and Malia racked up more imaginary frequent flier miles and saw more parts of the world than most American tweens will do in a lifetime, they remained grounded in the First Lady's caring, sheltering shadow.

Michelle-Style has traveled on most of these trips.

I laughed reading this quip about the not camera-shy Sasha: 

At the Kremlin, Sasha stuffed her hands into her pockets as she walked its hallways. President Barack Obama said they began calling her Agent 99, after a character in the 1960s TV spy comedy "Get Smart."

"I thought she was going to pull out her shoe phone," he joked.

The Obama girls are back at Sidwell, with great stories to tell. Malia, now a sixth-grader, and Sasha, a third-grader, with an unusually broad global perspective and a set of memories to last a lifetime. A
