The Astoundingly Composed, Confident & Comforting Vicki Kennedy

Vicki and Ted Kennedy, kissing at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, 2008.So many people were blown away last week by Vicki Kennedy, Senator Kennedy's wife. She appeared not only as a true-grit Kennedy woman, but something intangible in the category of the "griving widow".

The word has been for years that Ted and Vicki Kennedy enjoyed an unusually close marriage. Last week we saw a totally composed, grieving woman still able to touch us, the people getting to know her intimately, on an international stage.

Personally, I was blown away by her grace, elegance and eloquence -- even when the words came as a gesture or look on her face, and not as words. What an extraordinary love story the world saw in action last week.

I truly hope that Vicki Kennedy doesn't leave us, when we've just gotten to know who she is. For more about Victoria Reggie Kennedy, read: What's Next for vicki Kennedy.
