President Barack Obama, his eldest daughter Malia and youngest Sasha, and first lady Michelle arrive at Pratica di Mare's military airport, near Rome, Friday, July 10, 2009.
We have more information on First Lady Michelle Obama's visit to the Vatican. Michelle's motorcade arrived about 2:45 pm Rome time, with Malia and Sasha, her mother Marian Robinson and longtime friend Kaye Wilson for a guided tour of St. Peter's Basilica.
The world-famous and very inspiring Sistine Chapel was closed ahead of the first Lady's visit.
At the end of her tour, Michelle and Company joined the official American delegation, meeting the pope with the rest of the group, after he concluded his meeting with President Obama.
The Presidential entourage was scheduled to head directly for the airport in their departure for Ghana, where they will be guests of honor at a state dinner tonight. Anne
