National Journal Online Talks to the East Wing

Because I'm not a Michelle Obama scholar, although I'm working on it now, it's interesting to see how various people in the Obama circle came together.
Michelle Obama's new chief of staff Susan Sher, first met and interviewed Mrs. Obama for a city of Chicago job in 1991. Mrs. Obama was willing to take a pay cut, in order to work with city government. Impressed with Mrs. Obama, Sher turned over her resume to Valerie Jarrett, now Senior Advisor to POTUS. No deal was struck, but the rest is history, as they say. A
