Unconfirmed Reports Place Michelle, Sasha and Malia at Buckingham Palace for a Meetup with the Queen
Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 5:54PM There's a lovely article in the London Telegraph speaking not only of the close relationship that The Queen and Michelle have enjoyed since the First Lady's April visit to Buckingham palace but concerning the rare guided tour of Buckingham Palace enjoyed by Michelle Obama, Sasha and Malia last Wed.
In a story that both Washington and the Palace refuse to confirm, Sasha had the superb birthday present of seeing the Queen's official London residence and the 40 acres of gardens comprising Buckingham Palace on Wednesday, the final day of their getaway.
The Telegraph writes that the Queen warmly greeted the First Lady and her daughters at the end of the tour. No word on whether tea was served.
In a further tribute to Michelle, the London newspaper writes that the Queen's relationship with Michelle, especially the infamous April 'hug' is unprecedented.
The two have kept in contact since April, exchanging letters (the Queen is not big on email, although she has at least two iPods, one from POTUS and FLOTUS) and also contact by phone.
Even Michelle's rare critics (alright, she has a few million) must admit that her personal charm and authenticity are legendary is she has captured the favor and a bit of royal heart from the Queen.
Perhaps Prince Charles will ask M for some private coaching. The Prince has spoken of his mother's undemonstrative nature. A

I think its great that the girls got to meet the queen. Michelle's haters will never admit anything positive about her, its not in their (hateful) nature.
