I love Michelle Obama's relationship with food. In a single week, we see her telling kids to eat their veggies on Sesame Street and yesterday she's off to eat one of Top Chef alumni Spike Mendelsohn's famous burgers at Good Stuff Eatery in Washington.
Michelle just grabbed 20 staff members and headed out the door, creating one of the best 'ladies lunches' ever. (Does this mean there were no guys in the group?)

News reports say some members of the group enjoyed an "Obama Burger", a fresh, farmhouse burger topped with bacon, blue cheese, Mendelsohn’’s homemade onion marmalade and a horseradish mayo.
The word that comes to mind with Michelle Obama is 'balance', 'balance', 'balance'. FLOTUS is NOT about self-denial. I'm sure there's a few vegetarians not thrilled about her lunch yesterday -- although watching the video, Good Stuff Eaters is famous for their veggie burgers.
The FLOTUS mantra is dedicated to enjoying a well-lived life, with plenty of pleasure and joy.
Michelle Obama is able to enjoy her burger, fries and milkshake without beating herself up, because she's gets up early and works out. FLOTUS is the CEO of her own health-maintenance system and that of her family.
What looks like a spontaneous indulgence is actually part of a finely-tuned diet that allows her to indulge on occasion. Research confirms that this is the best approach to eating, with actual enjoyment of food and less binging.
We know that American women have a terrible relationship with food and self-image. Through her actions -- and not always via her speeches and public announcements -- FLOTUS is trying to show us how to live a good life and ENJOY ourselves.
Here's looking at you, kid(s). Anne
