White House Hunts Down Recyclable, Eco Easter Eggs
Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 2:11PM This should be a noncontroversial discussion about eggs, one that appeals to both Republicans and Dems.
The White House unveiled the officia White House Egg, made in more environmentally-friendly wood than in years past.
The White House eco eggs use 31 percent less paperboard then last years and it eliminates the need for paper shred/filler.
Of course, the wooden eggs must be colored. What respectable Easter egg goes like a plain Jane to the White House Easter Egg Roll? In an icky part of the press release, quoted by Christian Science Monitor, last year's eggs undoubtedly used "lead-based arsenic paint, probably made from nuclear waste and ground-up dolphins". (I kid you not.)
This year's eco-friendly Easter eggs use renewable, vegetable oil-based inks. Links here to buy them from the National Park Foundation. A
