Obama & Robinson: Keeping the First Family Safe & Sound
Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 10:26AM Essence has now posted the cover and interview story I wrote about yesterday in Michelle and the Refined Art of Human Connection.
Michelle and her mom Marian Robinson affirm the special role that mothers play in our lives.
Trying to track the FOTUS logic or returning early from her European trip, I found myself wondering if her security team was ambivalent about sending her into Turkey.
The London Times wrote this morning that Muslim women were chagrined that Michelle didn't make the last leg of the European trip:
Who am I to dispute Michelle's assertion that she wanted to get home, to be with her daughters at the beginning of the school week?
But now that we know that POTUS just flew into Bagdad, I say that everything makes sense. Absolutely, the Obamas would not put both parents in harm's way.
Marian Robinson may be the most unique First Grandmom we've seen, but concern for Sasha and Malia's future is a crucial concern for all but the most insensitive parents. When it comes to these girls, we're in Talbot's country . . . and Talbot's is the retailer behind Michelle's Essence cover blue rose print. Anne
