Daily Gumbo Breakfast: Obama Foodorama
Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 9:06AM I adore the idea of tracking Obama through a variety of online "lookbooks", aka blogs and bigger.
My mission is to discover bloggers with something to say. Gushing is fine . . . goodness know I do it all the time. But I have a hunger for blogs that dig beneath the surface, getting beyond the surperficial, and actually "saying something".
Blogs that articulate niches of Obama influence are particularly interesting. Already the world is drowning in the naked truth of endless sleeveless stories, when the Obamas have a huge platform of interests.
Promoting itself as a "daily diary of the Obama foodscape, one bipartisn byte at a time." Obama Foodorama tells me something I don't already know. And it makes me think. Very creative and EXACTLY what I'm talking about!
Mixing the pragmatic -- this morning a recipe for Gordon Brown's Vegetable and Mozarella Parcels (I trust you know that the British Prime Minister is in Washington) with the polemic Obama Fishorama: Casson Trenor On Saving The Oceans, One Bite At A Time -- Obama Foodorama offers up a feast of original thinking.
In today's complicated world, we all can use a "what's for breakfast" hit of Obama Foodorama. Enjoy, but don't eat too many waffles. Even Michelle admits that she doesn't keep her figure, eating waffles every morning. A
