First Dog Will Be a Rescue Portuguese Water Dog Named . . .
Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 1:04AM Update 1. Anne here. I am illiterate on the subject of the "rescue" aspect of this Portuguese water dog. You see, I am so starstruck with the Obama brand, that I read the article to say that the new First Dog had to be recycled . . . you know, a Going Green Portuguese water dog. I will leave my story for you to enjoy at my expense. I now believe that rescue is an aspect of the breed, and that Sasha and Malia will get a "new" dog. Although Michelle says it must be 'mature'. So who knows.
The Obamas are making progress on the First Dog front. Can you imagine the pressure on this yet-to-be-found (officially, at least), in need of rescue, Portuguese water dog . . . soon to be crowned First Dog?
The LA Times reports, via People, Michelle Obama told People magazine that the family was on the lookout for a dog who fit that description, was "old enough" and was a "match" for the family dynamic.
A match for the family dynamic? What now . . . we must find the most charming dog in the world?
Do Sasha and Malia deserve anything less? Yes, please find the most charming Portuguese water dog on the planet, because this dog must fit in with the most charming First Family ever!
And they will . . . those Obamas. Yes, we can.
After listening to our supremely confident President sounding like he was "born to lead", speaking before Congress last night, I am totally confident that the Obamas will find the most irresistable Portuguese water dog ever born and now requiring rescue.
Dogs Gone Wild
I can see previously happy Portuguese water dogs running away from good homes, getting dirty in bad neighborhoods, crying "adopt me, adopt me please." I was born to be the First Dog.
Imagine the PDAs with a First Dog. We will all drown in hugs, kissing, and now petting. Washington is headed for a new Summer of Love.
Wonderful. Sigh. Anne
