First Daughters Statler and Waldorf

First Daughters at We Are One concertNew York Mag brings us this delightful photo of First Daughters Sasha and Malia Obama at the We Are One concert. In genuine "kids will be kids" style, the girls looked totally detached or "out cold in sleepland" when bored, or enthused and excited, snapping their camera, when pleased with a performance.

No problem, girls. Even I was bored beyond words with Mellencamp.

NYM calls our First Daughters "America's New Statler and Waldorf", a term that sent me to Wiki for an education. OK, so now you know . . . no kids and over 30.

In case I'm not alone here, Statler and Waldorf are two ornery old men from "The Muppet Show", who sat high in the back-seat balcony, throwing suitable-for-children epithets on performers they disliked.

Wiki says Statler and Waldorf are two New York City hotels. Wrong, I believe!  "What Statler Hotel in NYC?"

The Statler Hotel is in Buffalo, New York, and if I didn't have dear friends there, I could forgive the Wiki-writer screwup. So no comment is allowed. Go Buffalo!
